Coli-Mix Plus® – Effective broad spectrum sulfa antibiotic

For the treatment of secondary bacterial infections in poultry sensitive to sulphamethoxypyridazine and trimethoprim

Coli-Mix Plus® is a broad spectrum water soluble antibiotic with excellent activity against most gram negative organisms affecting poultry, including Avian cholera, Colisepticemia, Chronic respiratory disease, Swollen head syndrome, Cellulitis, Peritonitis, Airsacculitis, Salpingitis, Osteomyelitis, Salmonellosis, Coccidiosis, and Coryza caused by Avibacterium and Staphylococcus infections.


Coli-Mix Plus® is a fast acting antibiotic composed of Sulphamethoxypyridazine-phenyl-propanol-disulphonate sodium and Trimethoprim phenyl-propanol-disulphonate sodium which increases antibacterial efficacy.

Sulphamethoxypyridazine reaches maximum concentration in the blood after 12-24 hours, retaining efficacy for 48 hours.   While the Trimethoprim component is completely and rapidly absorbed in 1 – 5 hours, and is widely distributed throughout the body tissues. 

There are many different types of antibiotics, and they destroy bacteria in different ways.  Antibiotics within a class generally have similar effectiveness and mechanisms of action and resistance and they tend to be effective against the same types of infections.


Sulfanamides, such as Coli-Mix Plus® , interfere with RNA and DNA, which are necessary for cell growth and replication.

Coli-Mix Plus® is available in a range of packaging sizes to suit all requirements 

(25 g, 100 g, 1 kg, 10 kg or 25 kg).


Coli-Mix Plus® is most effective when dosed at 22 – 44 grams in 100 litres of drinking water for 5 consecutive days. Coli-Mix Plus® is available over-the-counter through Super Agri Science.  Use in consultation with a veterinarian is recommended. 

Coli-Mix Plus® has a withdrawal period of 3 days for meat and eggs.  However, Coli-Mix Plus® is not recommended for commercial layers where eggs are used for human consumption.
