GENERAL

Gutpro^® is an aqueous solution of organic acids that acidifies the drinking water, reducing biofilm build-up, improving gut health and firming manure droppings. It is suitable for use in poultry, pigs, ostriches and pigeons.

HOW IT WORKS

MODE OF ACTION

Gutpro^® acidifies the drinking water and crop to a pH below 4. At this pH range, the growth of pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli is inhibited, reducing harmful bacteria and increasing the proportion of beneficial bacteria. The improved gut-bacteria composition supports digestion, absorption and manure quality. Early acidification during the first three days after hatching may help prevent Salmonella colonisation in the gut and may also assist in reducing foot burn associated with excess nitrogen in warm diets.
