L-Ascorbic Acid act as a strong antioxidant, cofactor to various metabolic process and important during enzymatic processes. L-Ascorbic Acid is a strong water-soluble antioxidant that prevent cellular damage by free radicals during stress conditions. It further also plays an important role in the immune response.
Supplementation of L-Ascorbic Acid to the drinking water of poultry will increase their resilience against heat stress related metabolic problems. During heat stress conditions the endogenous L-Ascorbic Acid levels becomes depleted due to its antioxidant action and need to be supplemented.
