Co-enzyme Q10 is an antioxidant and an essential cofactor in the mitochondrial synthesis of energy. Carnitine is crucial to the shuttle of long-chain fatty acids across the inner mitochondrial membrane and controls the rates of β-oxidation of long-chain fatty acids, playing a pivotal role in energy metabolism.
